The Signal and Communications (S&C) team is part of Canadian Pacific’s Engineering Services Department and is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of CP’s train signal and control systems, wayside detection systems and, wayside voice and data communication systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops the construction, installation, maintenance and safety standards, specifications and procedures for the installation and maintenance of all wayside overhead and underground AC power systems, electrical distribution equipment and solar power systems.
• Project Manager for all new wayside AC power and solar power system installations.
• Handles all wayside inductive coordination issues and investigates cases of electromagnetic interference to S&C equipment from near-by power
  utility facilities. Develops and implements appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Represents CP and the Canadian Railway Industry on the technical committees for the Canadian Electrical Code Standards C22.3 No 1 Overhead
  Systems and No 7 Underground Systems.
• Provides technical support to the Manager S&C Design & Development and to the S&C Design Manager to create detailed prioritized annual project plans for wayside AC power and solar power systems.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• University degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Professional Engineer with 8 years experience in power engineering.
• Must be eligible to travel to the USA.
