The Signal and Communications (S&C) team is part of Canadian Pacific’s Engineering Services Department and is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of CP’s train signal and control systems, wayside detection systems and, wayside voice and data communication systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops, issues and maintains all Signals and Communications (S&C) Requirements Documents, S&C Recommended Practice Documents, S&C Alerts, S&C Safety Bulletins and S&C Maintenance Bulletins ensuring compliance with all applicable operating rules, recommended design practices, design policies, design standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implements new S&C material into CP inventory and maintains the Approved List of S&C Material.
  • Investigates and advises on the recommended course of action account defects in material design and/or usage.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of new and evolving S&C equipment and systems technology.
  • Assesses and reports on the impact of proposed and new rules and regulations.
  • Provides input into S&C training.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer with 3 to 5 years experience.
  • Must be eligible to travel to the USA.
